Special Ingredients

GI Pro³

A multi-strain probiotic/proteobiotic that destroys disease-causing bacteria in the hindgut. This ingredient is a true probiotic that arrives to the hindgut alive with proven equine pathogen inhibition.

Organic Chromium

KemTRACE® Chromium supports proper glucose and insulin metabolism to improve health and performance. Assists insulin to move glucose from blood into the tissue.

Marine Based Calcium

Highly available marine derived calcium (Calcite). Calcite has increased availability to aid gut buffering and bone health. Increased absorption leading to increased bone density.

Chelated Organic Trace Minerals

These proteinated minerals allow for maximum absorption and retention by the horse. They are designed to match as closely as possible the naturally complexed trace element compounds found in forages and grains.

100% Organic Selenium

Organic Selenium is more bio-available than inorganic Selenium and is better retained in the body. This allows the horse to build nutrient reserves against periods of increased demand with less risk of toxicity.

Added Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Think of the proteins as words and the amino acids as the letters that form the words. If an animal is trying to form a protein to build or repair tissue and an amino acid is missing, the protein cannot be formed. LMF feeds use high quality protein sources in all of our feeds. Additionally, LMF feeds are supplemented with two of the most critical amino acids, Lysine and Methionine.

Natural Vitamin E

Natural Vitamin E, which comes from plant oils, is an important fat soluble vitamin that is not produced by the horse’s body. This vitamin must be obtained through external sources like forage, grain and supplements. Vitamin E: acts as an antioxidant, helps keep the immune system strong, and helps the body use Vitamin K.

Omega 3 and Omega 6 Fatty Acids

Omega fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids that are components of oils commonly added to horse diets. Omega 6 fatty acids are used in the body to help mediate inflammation. Omega 3 fatty acid is used to produce intermediaries that suppress inflammation. Both Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids are important in a horse’s diet for hoof health, reproductive success, allergy and immune conditions, respiratory conditions, and exercise recovery.

Yeast Culture

Yeast Cultures work to enhance fiber digestion and nutrient absorption allowing for increased for enhanced animal performance. By improving feed efficiency yeast cultures also help to maintain body and coat conditions in horses.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a natural substance that is found in the cartilage tissue associated with unique joints. It is made from a series of sugar and protein molecules. Once incorporated into joint cartilage it works with other substances to absorb shock and lubricate the joint. Glucosamine has been shown to function in the joint as an anti-inflammatory substance. Glucosamine is added to help horses feel more comfortable and move easier.

Magnesium

Magnesium (MG) is a mineral with many functions in the horse. One key function of Magnesium is the involvement with insulin to store blood sugar. Deficiency of Magnesium may contribute to worsening insulin resistance. Magnesium is specifically added to all LMF Feeds intended to be fed to carbohydrate sensitive horses.
